Hi, I’m Tricia

I'm Tricia Yoshii, a Glenview mom of two.

There was always a camera. Photographs and art are what stop me anywhere I go, and making them is what I did on the side of every job I ever had.

For fifteen years I led creative teams. I built an in-house agency from two people to ten inside a software company, and we made brands, campaigns and websites for Fortune 500 companies. My job was to help customers tell their story.

It's the same job now. The stories belong to people instead of brands. Nobody frames a campaign.

This summer I left to do this full time. For a long time I had been promising myself someday. Then my second was born, and the year that followed rearranged what I was willing to keep putting off. Someday stopped being good enough.

My daughter runs through fields giggling. My son is always moving, always grinning. Those are the versions of them I want to keep.

Fifteen years of improving other people's work teaches you one thing above everything else. The good frame comes right after everyone stops posing. So I keep sessions unhurried, warm and easy, whether that's a family in a backyard, a couple at golden hour, or a wedding day that will not slow down for anyone.

Somewhere in there I also did two hundred hours of yoga teacher training, which turns out to be more useful than it sounds when a session needs to slow down and a four-year-old disagrees.

I photograph families, newborns, couples and weddings across Glenview, Wilmette, Winnetka, Kenilworth and Chicago's North Shore. Based here, available for travel.

A few things I believe. Kids should get to be kids in photos. The best frame is almost never the posed one. And the picture you almost didn't take becomes the one you can't live without.
